Inmate dormitories were, officially speaking, assigned quarters of varying sizes: 'huts' held two, 'leans' held four, and 'bunkhouses' held eight or more. Due to Rib's massive size, poor language skills, and presumed tendency toward violence, he was assigned a corner hut near the edge of Apshodel's main living block.
Yangcong would find himself escorted across sandy, stone-choked ground by a pair of baton-toting guards. Blinding blue rays of the midday sun bathed the area in an oppressive heat. A stone-slab box was their final destination, chipped white paint peeling cheerily from the wall emblazoned with '#99'.
The building appeared to be little more than a modestly sized apartment - quite like the ones the former Space Captain might remember from his life on Earth. The guards stopped short, handing their escort a plastic bag of fresh jumpers and cleaning commodities. "Good luck." One of them snickered unsympathetically. "Hope the big guy likes you. Last one who got in a fight with him is still in the med bay."
As soon as Yangcong entered the door, he'd hear a rumbling growl - beady yellow dots boring a hole into the human's very soul as the lumbering Rib stood from his smushed cot. The monster's mouthpiece opened slightly, rows of curved, razor-sharp teeth glistening with saliva.

The news on the tv channels of this isolated planet was indeed showing the aftermaths of the trial and where Yangcong was going now. As he walked freely around this planet that looked more like a camp than an actual prison facility that he was used to. He looked at the inmates that were around him, eyeing him up and down as he walked the halls.
He was given the hut number 99 on it and where he was going to spend the rest of his time at. Escorted by the guards, the inmates not only gave him dirty looks as he passed by, but they also gave him worried looks. The inmate that was considered to be one of the more dangerous inmates in this penal colony had everyone on edge. How would he treat Yangcong and if they were to work together, just how dangerous could the both of them be? Yangcong had arrived at the hut opening the door to see this towering monster inside.
"I'm pretty sure you already know who I am. The news has already painted a picture of me."
His chin was slightly upward and his stare towards Rib was nothing but serious. He couldn't show any fear no matter how tall and strong the inmate looked. He went over to his side of the room and began placing his stuff down from property, which was a ton of food that he brought from the prison that he was in.
"If you like Moosh chips, help yourself."
Yangcong would hand him the moosh chips which was considered to be one of the more popular chips choice when it came to galactic prison in general.
"So, how long is your sentence here?" wc 288

"Yea. Real big pictcha." Rib rumbled humorously, moving aside enough for Yangcong to enter properly. "They say yous not a fighta, but a thinka. Always thinkin." The Shokun accepted the chips with a hearty grunt, tossing the entire bag into his maw. Surprisingly no crumbs fell loose as Rib's teeth shredded the snack to bits.
"At least ya small. Twiggy n' such. More room in the room. Yea?" The Alien eyed Yangcong's belongings curiously as the small wall TV continued rambling about the trial beforehand. "They said ya ain't supposed ta be 'ere. Max-e-mum prison too 'arsh."
Rib amusedly rumbled, well aware that Yangcong was serving life. "Told me I'll be 'ere for four-tee years wit good behavior. Said livin' 'ere will make me all civ-ill-eye-zed." The Shokun ambled over to his messy half of the hut, rummaging around before pulling out a stone bowie knife that looked more the part of a kid's plastic kitchen knife in his giant meaty hand.
"'Ere. One of the otha twigs try to hurt, don't rely on the guards for 'elp. Do what ya do." Seemingly unsatisfied with the small snack, Rib also unwrapped a giant chunk of raw purplish meat, tearing into it with great relish.

Yangcong just kept hearing the monster speak, based on his intelligence level Yangcong assumed it was between a 5 year to 10 year old. But that could simply be a speech problem the creature has and could very well be super intelligent. After all, Yangcong like many humans have always wondered if there was indeed more intelligent life out there far superior than their own. So when he saw the monster just eat the bag of chips without opening it, Yangcong simply just threw his idea of this creature being intelligent out the window.
"Yea it was harsh. I was probably one of the few humans that was sent to that awful place. This place.. seems more like... a third world prison to me. Then again, it appears to look more camp like than anything. Different from the building type structure that I was in, this is more so.. free to roam through.."
Yangcong looking over his shoulder and seeing the giant size monster grabbing at a knife and Yangcong sliding his left hand to his pocket, holding onto his shank just in case this monster had other ideas. Yangcong turned to the monster and now had both his hands in his pocket, trying to look as casual one could be as he leaned up against the wall.
"So tell me, has anyone here ever tried escaping this place?"

"So it is," Rib agreed amicably. "So it is. Not that there's a lotta stuff on this 'ere rock. All blue and hot and hurty." Yangcong's low opinion of his smarts, even if made known, wouldn't rub the Shokun the wrong way. His species were a lot of tribal warriors, and the common language of humanoids was still befuddling. So long as the Earthling didn't try to assert dominance. The giant stone blade lingered between them for a moment as Rib shrugged, tucking away more purplish meat. "Betta get used to it. This place gonna be the nicest one those cops'll send ya to."
The alien's jaw split wide, stained purplish-red as he let out a barking laugh. "S' a good one. Yea mate, sure have. No ship. No money. No weapon. Nowhere to go. Even if ya made it onto one of 'em transports and took off, the cops'll get ya. Simple as." Asphodel would prove to be more challenging an escape than the supermax Yangcong had stayed at before - primarily thanks to the natural security measures. The entire planet worked as an easy, hands-free prison to keep all the undesirables locked up while still giving the facade of humane rehabilitation.

Yangcong would sigh, sitting on his bed and just listening to what Rib had to say.
"Back where I was from. We were housed base off 7 level systems. I was placed on the highest tier because of my crime. But I should of in reality be placed at level 1 because of my power. The system didn't care and neither did the guards. Now that I am here, it seems like it would be much easier to escape this place than the facility that I was at. There were more guards over at the facility and this place seems to be a civilization rather than a prison... The freedom to just travel around this place..."
Yangcong then started to wonder and with his right hand to his chin, he began plotting.
"Tell me, when do ships come to this planet? is it rare cases or is it scheduled?"
He needed the layout to this place and how it worked, given that it was his first day he would learn a lot the more he was here and this was one of the better chances of escaping such a prison due to it being far away from Galactic HQ. He laid on his bed now with both his hands behind his head just sighing to himself.
