The gentle breeze caressed Ryder's face, coaxing her from her deep meditative state. As her eyes fluttered open, she felt a subtle shift in her being. A newfound strength pulsed through her veins, and she realized that she had broken through the bottleneck in her cultivation. The world around her seemed to glow with a renewed vibrancy, and a sense of clarity washed over her. She had longed for this moment for what felt like an eternity, and yet now that it had finally arrived, she couldn't help but feel a mix of elation and trepidation. She knew that with this newfound power came great responsibility, and the journey ahead would be fraught with peril and uncertainty. But for now, Ryder basked in the moment, relishing in the realization that she had ascended to a higher level of existence. "I suppose it's time I checked in on the situation at the capital" the woman mused to herself as she departed her little hut, making her way through the dense foliage of the forest. It wasn't long before she made her way down the mountain and began the long jaunt to the capital city... only to find the place under new management. Her homeland, the Green East, was conquered by General Thaw of the Planet Trade Organization. To Ryder's pleasant surprise, the man was running recruitment, seeking the strong among the locals to join his ranks. This was a tempting offer for the former soldier, who held no love for the corrupt government of the Green East's military. It did not take long for Luceilia to ace the preliminary examination, held by Thaw's underlings and earn herself an audience with the enigmatic General himself. The sprawling base of the PTO loomed before Ryder like a mountain of power and influence, the smooth curves and rounded towers an interesting divergence from the local ar. She made her way through the bustling throngs of henchmen, her senses alert for any sign of danger. She knew that in this new world, only the strong survived, and she intended to be counted among them. As she walked to the appointed meeting room, the woman couldn't help but ponder the implications of her actions. Was she about to set herself against the entirety of the human race? If the General's offer was right, she would join him without hesitation. It wasn't as though her own people ever did her any favors. Before long, Ryder found herself standing before a sturdy door, knocking twice and awaiting the man's invitation. Once invited, the woman would stride in confidently, a serious yet respectful expression on her face as she made her way to stand before the general and stand with her hands folded behind her back in a parade stance, awaiting further instructions. Ryder was garbed in simple military camo fatigues that clung to her figure, showcasing her physique without overly emphasizing it. Her blonde hair fell in thick and sloppy locks, while this was a formal meeting she had no intentention of fighting this hair that had grown more unruly and unkempt ever since she undertook that fateful experiment some years prior. And here she stood, face to face with an actual alien general, her heartbeat slightly accelerated at the thought of finally joining a military that actually did shit. A military worthy of her talents. OOC: E rank Social Quest General Thaw 558 words

It took some time to transform the city into what a typical arcosian city would look like. The building structures were present and appeared more modern in design just like the ones on the planet. Also it was well fortified than what Earth's defenses were on a building, which was literally nothing but maybe bullet proof glass if they were lucky to throw the money out there. General Thaw was in his office building having an important discussion with the former Mayor of the city.
"Ah, I am so glad the former mayor wanted to stop by and have a little chat."
What else could the mayor do? after all his city was taken over and his entire police department was gone, being fully replaced with armed PTO soldiers roaming the city.
"I wanted to discuss, what will happen to the survivors of your conquering?"
"I am currently running a recruitment for those who want to join the PTO. Those who join will effectively be spared from destruction. Then there will be those who just choose to leave the city. Then there there will be those who stand and fight. But they already have seen the damage I have done so there will be no more fighting. Since you did have a good hand in running this former city of yours, you will donate all your salary to me. So that I can further improve this cities defense capabilities. Now run along and don't try anything that would end your pitiful life."
The mayor was definitely scared and ran off. Then Thaw had a called from one of his PTO soldiers via scouter.
"Sir, we have a recruit that decided to show up."
"Excellent, I will be down there shortly!"
Thaw had shown up to the recruitment drive and staring at this blonde woman with a slight smirk underneath his breathing mask as he continued to breath through it.
"Welcome to the PTO recruitment drive. Do you have what it takes to serve our military?"

To her surprise, Ryder found herself standing alone in a chamber that was empty save for the echo of her own footsteps. Was this an ill omen, or simply a test of her mettle? And what about that voice that had invited her in, a machine perhaps?
As if in answer to her unspoken question, the door creaked open, revealing the imposing eight foot tall form of General Thaw. Ryder could feel a sense of danger from his presence. The man wasn't flexing his aura, but neither could she get a read on his true strength. He was an enigma, a being that gave her the sensation of a helpless puppy staring up at a strange human who could kick her at any time. Though he wore a mask that obscured his features, she could sense the intensity of a veteran of many battles.
She could hear his raspy breathing through the mask across his face, but that did nothing to subdue her impression of him. Instead, the woman felt only admiration for a man who could suffer such injuries and had the strength of will to continue to push himself out here on the battlefront.
Ryder stiffened to attention, her body responding instinctively to the General's commanding presence. She answered his question with a crisp "Sir yes sir!" The woman snapped in response, her body standing straight as an arrow as she answered the General's question. After a moment's pause while she waited for him to give further instructions, Ryder elaborated. "I served for ten years in the Special Forces of East Green, but I grew weary of their innaction. What's the use of cultivating strength, both personal and as a unit without the chance to put that strength to use? As I'm sure you've witnessed, the army of this nation was well-disciplined and well trained, but they lack the edge of an expert with practical experience. That's why I put in my walking papers two years ago and set out on a path to cultivate true strength. But I was raised to be a soldier, there's something in my blood that calls for a return to my roots, to go back to basics and begin anew with an army that would actually use my talents.
"I don't know much about these power levels the recruitment agents measured, but they told me it's ten thousand and apparently that's supposed to be pretty good. I can tell you in the past two years of cultivation I've grown multiple times stronger than when I withdrew from that sham of a military, and I'm confident I will only grow stronger and more valuable as time wears on and I get the chance to hone myself in the field."

Thaw's eyes had stared into the soul of this woman. She was different than the other humans on this planet. She had actual courage behind her step. His large size cloak covered his entire body as he now walked around her, examining her entire figure from head to toe. She seemed like a worthy individual who was willing to do what it took to serve the PTO and that's all he needed from someone. Thaw would look over to one of his PTO soldiers and spoke to them.
"Assign her to one of our Changeling officers. Maybe she will appreciate the kind gesture in seeing how serious she really is."
Thaw knew that a changeling officer would be the best bet for her. This would test her resolve and ultimately see if she would stick to the PTO military path. After all, a changeling is the worst officer one could be assign with.
"Good luck recruit. Perhaps I will see how strong you have become in a months time...."
With that being said, the PTO soldier going over to her afterwards and assigning her to a Changeling officer and giving her a specific coordinates on where to meet him. Meanwhile Thaw went back upstairs to his office and called it a day.

Ryder arrived at her new barracks, her heart aflutter with a trace of anticipation. She was a soldier, once more, returning to her roots.
As she approached the barracks, she was surprised to find herself standing before a large, imposing structure, a barracks unlike any other she had seen before. The barracks was complete with a food hall, and the scene was one of chaos and commotion. The smells of food and the sounds of laughter and conversation filled the air as Ryder made her way into the co-ed Barracks to which she had been assigned.
A group of soldiers greeted her, their faces amused with the sight of a new recruit, a mere human and a woman at that. She could feel their leering eyes but Lucy paid them no mind. Anyone dumb enough to overstep his bounds was in for a world of hurt. To put it simply, they could fuck around and find out.
Ryder followed her appointed guide through the bustling food hall, taking in the sights and sounds of her new home. They led her through a maze of corridors, each one filled with soldiers going about their daily business. Some were training, honing their skills and preparing for battle; others relaxing, enjoying the company of their comrades and the swill of victory grog.
Finally, they arrived at her quarters - a small, Spartan room with a bed, a desk, and a closet. The simple accommodations suited Ryder just fine, for two years she had lived in a handmade hut even more rugged than this as she began the road of cultivation. All she really needed was space to sit and meditate without distraction, anything beyond that was a luxury.
The rest of the day went by quickly enough as Ryder hung out in the dining hall, sharing in the revelry of troops with a fresh victory beneath their belts. There were few women and no humans in this barracks, making Lucy more determined than ever to make her mark and ensure none of these soldiers saw her as anything less than a comrade worthy of respect. A worthy goal to be sure- but one that would not be completed in its entirety until she got the opportunity to prove herself on the field of battle.
As the day drew to a close and the soldiers retired to their beds, Ryder lay awake, her mind racing with thoughts and emotions. She was excited to be here, among her fellow soldiers, but she was also a little nervous. For two years straight now, she had been lone wolf beholden only to her own objectives, and now she was part of a pack once more, a pack a good deal more disordered and wild than she was accustomed to back in the military of the Green East.
Little did she realize just how little time she would wind up spending here in the months to follow. After all, what alien military would be so foolish as to allow a competent special forces operative who could blend so easily into the ranks of their enemies to merely remain on standby at the base and wait for battle?
