Quest Title: Seeking a diamond in the dung heap
Tier: C
Region: Earth | Eastern Green
Reward: 16k Zeni, 4k PL, 4 SP
Objective:
With a shortage of manpower and the opportunity to test this new recruit's leadership abilities and ability to operate under pressure, Commander Zero tasks Ryder with infiltrating the deepest dredges of the local PTO prison to determine if she can find anyone useful down there. An order easier said than done, given the nature of the scum that fills that level. Scum strong enough to keep on the chance they could conceivably be re-educated into useful assets, but insufficiently noble to have died on the battlefield. A hive of scum and villainy to be sure, but lurking in the depths there may be a few hidden gems... if Ryder can make it far enough to find them without becoming a snack for the metaphorical beasts that have been caged for far too long.
Shackled with Suppressors like the rest of the inmates, equipped with a tiny ear implant for minimal communications and cast into a prison full of hungry wolves, can she complete her quest and make it back intact?

Ryder's eyes snapped open, the first rays of sunlight filtering through the barracks' windows. She sat up and took a deep breath as she surveyed her surroundings. For years, Ryder had fought under Eastern Green's banner as part of their Special Forces division. However, two years ago she grew tired with corruption within military ranks back home and decided to embark on a cultivation journey throughout Jianghu in search for something more fulfilling. Now that fulfillment was at hand: serving in Planetary Trade Organization’s army who recently seized control over Eastern Green where she hailed from; it felt like fate brought them together after all this time apart. She rose quickly out of bed without hesitation or delay, going through the swift and machine-like motions of making her bed and dressing herself in her new uniform with expertise honed from a decade in the service Her footsteps echoed down hallways lined by other soldiers milling about their own duties. Some nodded and some leered while most ignored her presence entirely – this planet wasn't even conquered and the higher ups were hiring on the locals? Regardless, the lot of them managed to keep their mouths to themselves and their groups, none of them bothering to accost the woman on her way to the appointed meeting despite the distaste a fair number of them felt for her inclusion to their ranks. Upon arrival, at the greeting chambers of the commander's office Ryder found a secretary manning a desk. "Recruit Ryder, reporting for my meeting with Commander Zero" She introduced herself and awaited further instructions. Should she be invited into the Commander's office, she would immediately do so and stand at attention awaiting further instructions. OOC: 283 words Zero Ika

He had yet to sleep as tired eyes threaten to shut and send him into a deep sleep. A Sleep he very much needed at the moment but he could not. He did not know why, the this Commander who taken over the Eastern area had agreed to take the human soldiers here and use them as assets. If you asked Zero Ika what he would want, that answer was simpler kill them all. There were two ways to got about the taking over of a planet and it depended on two things the price of the planet and the mineral on the planet. Would the PTO make more money from trades from this planet to the others they controlled or would the planet just fetch a good enough price that they could sell it as is and be done with it. From what he could tell here it was the latter. That meant there was no need for the humans besides selling them off as slaves to the rest of the universe. It was a good thing he had an underground partner that was apart of such a trade. While humans seemed to be fragile, they were easily made to do labor like they were breed for this. Though among the humans there was also animal like humans. They were bipetal and talked like humans but had fur like the beast-men on other planets. It was always interesting to see the growth of each planet's wild life turn into intelligent life forms even if it was the lowest levels of intelligence. When the human woman arrived in front of the secretaries desk the pink skin alien with straight violet hair looked up at the human with distaste. She pushed a button on her desk, "Commander, your morning appointment is here. Shall I send he in?" It was important to note that the secretary had a voice like Fran Drescher. While Zero was going over the final paper work of the new landing pad construction, the red light started to flash on his desk. Pressing it button he heard that insufferable voice from that blasted woman outside. His anger rose even higher as his black bio armor began to glow. He was so filled with rage that he was ready to enter his true state and blast the idiots they assigned him away and take this planet over properly. Calming himself he took a deep breath, soon that is all he had to remember was soon. The PTO was a shell of what it had been, and soon he would fix it. "Send her in." His voice came through on the other end the pink hair lady gave a façade smile and pointed to the door. "Remember to report in correctly this time Recruit. " WC 465

Ryder stood with perfect posture, her eyes unblinking and focused on the door in front of her. For whatever his reasons, General Thaw had seen fit to assign her to this Commander Zero, and she was damned determined to do her best to make a good impression. This was her only opportunity to make one, and she would do her level best to demonstrate her strengths as a military asset. The woman paid no heed to the distaste on display in the secretary's eyes. She had seen much the same among the troops in the barracks, but she was confident she could flip those views on their head once she got the opportunity to make some meritorious achievements on the battlefield. Results speak louder than race ever could. The door opened suddenly as the secretary pressed a button, revealing the tall figure in black bio-armor standing inside. He was intimidating even from afar, but Ryder kept her composure and held his gaze without flinching. She could feel his voice echoing through the room as he summoned her inside. Taking a deep breath, Ryder strode forward into the office and stood at Attention before her new commanding officer. It was show time. The heels of her boots clicked in a measured cadence as Ryder marched into the room and offered a proper salute in accordance with the PTO's military protocol in response to Commander Zero's. It was different from that of East Green, but the basic layer of discipline remained much the same- even if the same couldn't exactly be said of the actual daily behavior of the rank and file. The woman- garbed in her new uniform- stood there, her back ramrod straight as she awaited instructions for her deployment. Which unit would she be sent to, what role would she serve in the army? Would she be added to the front line division? Guarding supplies and logistics? Or would they perhaps capitalize on her humanity to put her to work as a double-agent? As the doors opened and slide apart his jet black hues focused onto her frame. She was small, tiny, thin, but very fit. Yes he could see the hard work she had put in into maintaining her physical capabilities. She was attractive, which would probably be a double edged sword for her. While pretty people got more favors, in the military it demanded more favors. She would have to learn to deal with that herself. As she centered herself with his desk and saluted Zero returned the salute, perhaps one of the only ones of his kind to do so but he found doing this simple act bolstered his subordinates loyalty. He stood up from his seat from behind his desk and folded his arms behind his back as he slowly walked over towards her. He paused for a few seconds when he was about 3 steps away from her left side. His eyes scanned her up and down but it was not her body he was looking it, not exactly. He was scanning her uniform for any errors and wrinkles. Her uniform passes visual inspection on this side so he walked behind her and paused again, he knew this part scared the shit out of newbies in his unit and was feeding of the moment. His lips curled into a wicket smile as he slowly parted them.
"Well, I must admit. You have lived up to my expectation as far as your uniform goes, and you seem to be in peek physical condition. However, your race is known to have its weakness. "
He fixed his face making it a blank stare as he circled back in front of her where she could now see him. He did one final look over and let out a humph before returning back to his chair. Once he rolled himself back to his desk his lips parted once more. "At ease. First off, welcome to the Unit. As I am sure you are aware I am Commander Zero Ika, and this is the Zero Unit. You may refer to me as Commander if you wish or Commander Zero. I have been tasked with brining you up to speed on how this military works having read your military jacket I am aware of your human military experience. While you may be familiar with military standards let me go ahead and warn you. Before you can embarrass me I will kill you. This is not a threat but a promise. If I see you are going to fail me I rather report your death than your failure to complete your mission. This does two things, one it gives the others a moral boost, and two higher gives you a medal and writes it off as just another number in the books. "
He paused for a moment to allow her to think that over and absorb what he was telling her. Failure on her part equaled death and no one would bat an eye at a human death. They were already seen as weak and frazil so it would only make sense they would probably die. Once he could see she understood he picked up a folder and handed it to her.
" For some reason above my understanding apparently this Commander Thaw wishes to use you humans as assets in the units instead of a slaved working force. So your first mission is simple, you will be going undercover. You will be emplaced in the camp where we have captured and empoisoned others from your planet. Your mission is to seek and find anyone who could be useful to the PTO. You will be treated just like a prisoner. The Correction Officers have no idea you are a member of the PTO. That being said we will give you a small device that will be undetectable by the searches done in the prison. It is a biological device. It will attack the the Nape of your neck and will burrow into your skin but not deep enough to do damage. Once you are done with your mission tap the nape of your neck three times and on the third tap hold your hand in place for 5 seconds.
Zero looked the woman in her eyes as he stood up and extended his hand to her. Hate was very apparent within his eyes but he still had to put up a front for now. This was not his operation and he was merely assisting on the ground.
