QUESTS & ARCS
If you want to earn rewards, fight, explore, or anything really, this will be the page which will detail how you can do just that effectively. In this page you will learn about our Quest mechanic, and what a Quest may entail, which really can be nearly everything, besides a Conquest thread. It is a necessity to apply for a custom Quest before doing said Quest, or Arc, but fret not, for this page will help lead you to creating your very own.
If you wish to just do a premade one though, you are free to do that too, by choosing from our catalogue of staff made Quests that have special rewards which are dubbed 'Re-Quests'. It means that you can do that Quest multiple times, though we have a minimum time you must wait before that Quest can be done again. However, note that you can complete a Re-Quest for the special rewards only the very first time. Anyways- that being said, we will describe the Quest mechanic below further:
QUESTS
Whether you desire to go out on a daring hunt for a monster, fight a local group of desert bandits, or perhaps be the villain yourself, this is how you can do that! If you hope to create your own custom Quest to roleplay a particular story for your character, then the template provided below will be what you will specifically use just for that:
Quest Title: (What is the name of the Quest?)
Tier: (And the Tier?)
Region: Region | Location (Example; Earth | Diablo Desert)
Reward: (Refer to the chart for Quest Rewards)
Objective: (Please detail to us the task you must complete)
However, do keep in mind our Lone Wolf rule for solo play here: In the span of 6 months, you may complete up to 8 Quests by yourself. However, this resets every 6 months. A tally of how many you've done are kept by staff. It is pertinent to understand that rewarded solo play will be a privilege on DB: DX. It is a privilege to tell a more personal story and receive rewards for said story, not grind to pass up everyone else.
__________
Social: E
Requirements: 500 Words Per Character [Standard for E] and at least two separate characters.
Reward: 4k Zeni | 1k Power Level | 1 SP (Flat rate for every Tier)
Limits: You can only claim the Social Quest if it includes a character with whom you haven't claimed one in the last month
__________
E-Tier Quest: It will tend to be centered around an easy, short, task, for example, perhaps you may deliver a package, defeat a few local thugs, or any other minor job on the same par as what I said here. If you're a villain, you could find yourself trying to perform armed robbery of a victim, subjugating a weak traitor of your faction, or defeating a couple of weak wannabe heroes. (Halved Rewards for Solo Play, unless E-Tier)
Reward: 4k Zeni | 1k Power Level | 1 SP
Wordcount Required: 500 Words
Tier Required: 1 E-Tier
__________
Reward: 8k Zeni | 2k Power Level | 2 SP
Wordcount Requirement: 750 Words
Tier Required: 1 D-Tier or 2 E-Tier
__________
Reward: 16k Zeni | 4k Power Level | 4 SP
Wordcount Requirement: 1k Words
Tier Required:1 C-Tier or 2 D-Tier or 3 E-Tier
Wordcount Overage: All quests will offer bonus rewards based on their overages, going in multiples with diminishing returns based on the word count. The bonuses currently are x1 reqs = x1 gains, x2reqs = x2gains, x4reqs = x3gains, x8reqs = x4 gains.
ARCS
Is it your desire to do a string of Quests for whatever reason? If it is, then this is what Arcs will be exactly for. If you have the want to follow a linear story for the Quests that you do, for an extra reward at the end, you can opt to create and complete an Arc. Its purpose is to drive the plot of your character, and to have a means of developing them, through either solo play or co-op play of the Arc you will embark on.
In some cases though, to find a Master to train under or to prove yourself to a Master, you will need to follow an Arc for them first. It is through said Arc that you will prove worthy to them, and then be granted permission to train under them. (May supersede Lone Wolf rule, but only Zeni gains during Arc)
If you want to scour the planet for the Dragon Balls, you may do that as well, one time as we allow the first time without a need for DE (Death Enabled) threads. However though, the second time you search for them, every thread will become DE for you now. If you acquire the Dragon Balls through a non DE arc, you may not trade them to anyone, and you must make one wish for your own character or personal NPC to Shenron by the end of the Deluxe Arc.
In regards to the Dragon Balls, more than one person can have them at a time because we will be going by fluid time, so canonically, everyone can have one free search for them via a Deluxe Arc. However, outside of this exception for first time users of them, for the Dragon Balls, a character must complete a Quest (non-Arc), roll a d20 and must roll over 10 to find the Dragon Ball. If they succeed in finding the Dragon Ball, the thread will stay open for 48 hours, to give others a shot of stealing the Dragon Ball from you. It will be a DE.
As for the types of Arcs you may create, I list them below:
Quick Arc: A series of Quests ranging from 3-4, which will grant you with a bonus reward below your Tier. If you are E-Tier, you will receive an E-Tier bonus, meaning your bonus may be: 4k Zeni | 1k Power Level | 1 SP. If you are trying to have a certain NPC Master tutor you, they may ask you to complete one Arc of this length to prove your worth.
Standard Arc: A series of Quests ranging from 5-6, which will grant you with a bonus reward equal to your Tier plus 1 free DX wheel spin. If you are trying to have a certain NPC Master tutor you, they may ask you to complete one Arc of this length to prove your worth.
Deluxe Arc: A series of Quests ranging from 7-8, which will grant you with a bonus reward 1 Tier over your own plus 2 free DX wheel spin. If you are trying to have a certain NPC Master tutor you, they may ask you to complete one Arc of this length to prove your worth.
__________
It is key to note that regardless of whichever Arc type you may decide to take on, your Quests of said Arc must reflect your Tier. If you want to do an Arc solo or co-op, here is the template you will need for the last Quest of the Arc:
Quest Title: (What is the name of the Quest?)
Tier: (And the Tier?)
Region: Region | Location (Example; Earth | Diablo Desert)
Reward: (Refer to the chart for Quest Rewards)
Arc Reward: (Bonus dependent on total wrote, check chart)
Objective: (Please detail to us the task you must complete)
