B lazing brightly in the cloudless sky, the sun blessed the beaches below with lovely heat. Occasionally, a salty sea breeze blew across the area, keeping the weather from getting unpleasant. Swimmers, sunbathers and volleyball enthusiasts wandered along the sandy shores. It was swimsuits and sun hats as far as the eye could see. However, there were also more sharp-dressed folks wandering about. A white tent had been erected on the quiet corner of the beach. Guests in suits and dresses were gathering in a neat line, waiting to be greeted and seated. Countless flowers decorated the many tables holding mountains of delicious food. Beautiful music drifted in the air. One guest in particular was dressed for the weather. A tomboyish girl pranced around happily, wearing a black bandeau, airy white pants and sleek detached sleeves. Golden bracelets, trimmings and a belt buckle gleamed in the sunshine. More strikingly though, she was bubblegum pink all over. The color combined with the outfit made her look like a mysterious spirit that had popped out of a story book. “Ah, you must be Zam. Mister Noudel said he’d be sending you.”The pink girl glanced up from a doodled map. Her curious gaze found a lanky man with kind eyes and a really nice tuxedo. A bright smile spread across her features. “Oooh, you know Gramps?” Her question was met with an earnest nod. “Sure do. We go way back. I take it you’re his protege?” She blinked. Slowly cocking her head, she gave the man a puzzled stare. “Uhhh no? Zam is not a protege.” She puffed her bouncy chest proudly. “Zam is a Majin, is what Zam is!”Nowl, it was the gentleman’s turn for a puzzled stare. Somewhere, a particularly noisy cricket played its song. “Eh... Right... Anyway...” He glanced around, as if looking for something. “Well, I’m glad you’re here. It’s a very... delicate situation... So, I hired one more bodyguard as well. He should be here any minute now.”

"Right here actually," Fang replied as he stepped up behind the man, a grin on his face. He was not exactly dressed for the occasion. He wore loose-fitting black robes that shifted easily in the wind, and his long black hair was tied up in a ponytail. This would be the second wedding he was attending as a bodyguard. He supposed it was convenient though. He was being paid for it after all, and as long as he did a decent job there should be no issues! But frankly, he was more interested in the food, drinks, and people. Not that he would not do his job if it was required of him. But he loved parties, and a wedding was just another kind of party to him where he could eat, drink, and chat as much as he liked outside of when the married pair were in the process. He looked at the pink woman. Lifting a hand to his chin, rubbing it as he examined her, and tilted his head. "Well aren't you a fascinating sight? My name is Long Fang. You can just call me Fang if you like though." He said with a grin before cupping his hands and offering her a little bow. "I've never seen a woman quite like you before. You're a Majin you said? I have no idea what that is, but I think you're a very good-looking one." He said with a laugh rising up. It was probably very apparent what he was like just from the few seconds that passed. He was a fun chatty guy who enjoys throwing out compliments like they were pieces of candy. He had a casual laid-back demeanor that perhaps belied the dark outfit he wore. If someone saw him from the back they might think otherwise, but it was clear he had an easy smile and a carefree attitude. Then he looked back to the man who had been speaking to Zam. "And you said there is a sensitive situation? What do you expect us to be dealing with?" He asked curiously.

W hen a new presence announced himself, the tuxedo man recoiled in surprise. “Oh, goodness me...!” He adjusted his little, black bow tie nervously. “You... uh... Your timing is impeccable, I must say.” Despite the shock, he still found a polite smile. Likewise, his tone remained ever so tactful. Zam, on the other hand, leaned past the gentleman and peered curiously at the stranger. Her golden gaze studied his outfit carefully. “Fancy...” The idle mutter slipped from her lips. A pair of pale tentacles peeked from her messy hair. They wiggled tentatively, taking measure of what eyes couldn’t see. “Ooh, pretty tough~” She mused out loud. The little Majin’s expression brightened and eyes began to positively sparkle at the compliments. Usually people called her mean things, like a monster or a demon. Sweet words made her feel all warm and fuzzy. “Nyeh hee~ Nice to meet ‘cha Fangy~!” Oh yes, she had already settled on a nickname. Any protests would probably go ignored, unless the sharp-witted man had a better idea ready. Meanwhile, the gentleman was ready to get back on topic. “Indeed. I fear a jealous ex of mine will try to sabotage the event.” He dug into his pocket and pulled out a carefully folded paper. “Just look at this awful letter I got recently. I would recognize that handwriting anywhere.” It was scrawled full of horrible threats. ...The handwriting was very smooth and flowery though. Kind of clashed against the grim message. Letting the duo study the letter if they so wished, the tuxedo man continued. “We need your protection to ensure everything goes perfectly. This is the most important day of our lives.” His shoulders heaved with a heavy sigh. “Just... Please try to handle things tactfully.” For some reason, he shot a pointed glance at the pink girl. Pushing the thought aside, the gentleman tried to smile. His shakiness left it a little shallow. “If all goes well, you’ll be handsomely rewarded. You’re also free to help yourselves to the catering.” Adjusting the bow tie again, he hesitated. “Oh and... Be prepared for anything.” He glanced around, before leaning in for a whisper. “My ex is a little... crazy.” Zam raised a hand. “That’s okay~! People say I’m crazy too.” Clearly her cheerful assurance didn’t exactly, well, assure the poor man. He merely nodded wordlessly, before hurrying back to the tent. That left the two bodyguards free to assess the situation and consider their approach. The excited, little Majin was already itching for action. “Weddings are super romantic~ I’ve only seen them on TV~” Her tone and expression slowly darkened. “I’m gonna blast anyone who tries to ruin this...” As she flexed her fingers, glimmering energy crackled in her grasp.

Fang was quite amused with the man's reaction as he made his presence known. It was almost a shame he had no idea what the Ex sounded like, otherwise, he might have tried to imitate their voice and really scare the man. He was quite good at imitation. He was also good at throwing his voice since such things could easily be carried on the wind.
He was also pleased that Zam seemed to like his outfit. It might not have been a tuxedo, but they were rather luxurious in their own way. Made from soft comfortable fabrics they likely cost more to create than a tuxedo. They were also a lot more durable than one might expect.
And since Zam was scanning him, or so he assumed, he didn't mind extending his own senses to her as well, and finding she was stronger than he was. Interesting. Well, it would make this job easier at least to have someone who seemed as fun and reliable as Zam.
He had no problems with her nickname for him. It rather pleased him that she seemed so easy to bond with. He was finding her to be extremely pleasant company so far! Her appearance was interesting, and he thought her attitude was likely similar to his own.
He listened as the man explained what the job was though, and found the situation very amusing. Since this was the second wedding he attended where it seemed a crazy ex was probably going to show up to try and crash things. Although he wondered how this ex would differ from the last one he had to deal with.
"Handle the situation tactfully?" He asked unsure what exactly the man was hoping for. If he hired bodyguards like them, then wasn't a fight likely to break out? It sounded like the ex was likely to force their way into the party and cause trouble after all. Though as long as they didn't get violent he supposed they could always try to talk them down or drag them out.
"Heh, the catering is what I am looking very forward to." Fang offered with a nod. The money would be nice too, but wedding food tended to be very good, as well as the drinks. So Fang was more than happy to indulge himself in all of it.
"We'll try to be prepared for anything." Fang nodded, having no idea how that was possible. But saying it mostly to help appease the man before he walked off and looked back to Zam.
"Oh, so this is your first time attending a wedding? They are very nice. It is a romantic gesture, tying your life to another." He noted with a smile. He wasn't sure if he'd ever have the chance to get married himself, but he did hope to find a dao mate one day. After all, as a cultivator, it was his goal to defy the heavens by gaining immense power and reaching immortality! So he wanted a partner he could hopefully spend that immortality with. But most people were not interested in reaching that point themselves, or rather, they were not willing to put in the effort, or lacked the talent.
"Well, I am glad you are enthusiastic about doing your job at least. So since people say you are crazy too, what would you do if you were a crazy vengeful ex who wanted to ruin a wedding? What would you do?" He asked figuring it would be amusing to see what Zam might consider doing. He bet she had some greatly amusing ideas.
"Hm, and since I am Fangy, maybe I should call you Zammy?" He mused since he thought it sounded pretty cute. He'd been considering nicknames he could call her too while chatting between her and their employer. Zammy sounded the best to him. But he had also considered Zammo, Zamster, and Zamio.

M eanwhile, binocular lenses glinted in a leafy bush not too far away. They focused on the two bodyguards. “Think you’ll keep me away, hm? How wrong you are...” A mysterious voice muttered to no one in particular. “My lovelies will raise a real stink about this...” Too bad no one was around to appreciate the ominous musing. The bush rustled softly and several, small silhouettes snuck out into the open... Zam cocked her head, as if that would help her ponder better. “If I were a mean bully, what would I do...? That’s a tough one, cuz I would never wanna ruin this... Hmmmm...” She hummed. Imaginary gears turned. Rather real steam started rising from her head, as her poor brain tried to imagine the impossible. However, the pondering was soon cut short... When the new friend suggested a nickname, the Majin gave him a weird look, like he had just blurted out something inappropriate. Standing on her tippy toes, she leaned a little closer. “Hey, listen~! I like many nicknames~ Zamzam, Zee, Pinky, Bubblegum...” Slowly, her smile faded and tone darkened. “But if you call me Zammy, I’m gonna hurt you.” She was strangely serious about it... An unsettling contrast against her usual cheery demeanor... Fortunately, the odd intensity didn’t last long. The pink destroyer regained her smile soon enough. “Okay? Okay~!” She dropped back down, giving the poor man some space. In her usual, blithe manner, she offered no elaboration on the forbidden nature of that particular nickname though... And definitely wouldn’t offer either, unless the man was brave and curious enough to poke for answers. Instead, Zam’s attention was drawn to a small silhouette sauntering along the sidewalk. Her eyes widened with recognition. And a little bit of panic. “...Uh oh, that’s a skunk.” More motion caught her eye. She gasped, gesturing wildly at the sandy beachside. “There’s another! And another! So many! Where did they all come from?” She preemptively pushed her nose into her skull, making it vanish with a little pop. Her body worked in weird ways. Indeed, at least a dozen of the black and white critters were sniffing about. Some were clearly interested in the scent of food wafting around the tables. Others seemed curious about the tent, trying to sneak inside. What a terrible coincidence to have a surfeit of skunks... Showing up just as the wedding was about to begin... In a region where skunks didn’t live... Hmmm...

He was amused that she considered his question so deeply that she somehow managed to start steaming about it. Was that something Majin could do, or just her? So interesting, and cute.
However, his amusement was quick to dim when she made a clear warning about calling her "Zammy". He was unsure how to feel about her words. At first, he wanted to take them as a threat, but they were only a threat if he insisted on calling her by that name. So no, it was just a warning that she would not accept being called by that nickname. He didn't back away when she got in his face, but he made no move to push the subject either. He simply observed the look in her eyes and the display on her face.
She might have been stronger than he was, but for a man who sought to challenge the heavens, and thus the gods beyond, the thought of fighting Zam didn't scare him. He was certain he would get his ass kicked if they did seriously fight though, and he didn't care about calling her by that name enough to risk her wrath needlessly. He was no coward, but he was no fool either, even if he acted it on occasion.
He simply nodded in agreement when she finally started to calm down. "Got it, Zee." He agreed, and decided to go with that nickname from her list of options. Though he might use the other ones occasionally too if she liked them all. Why stick with just one nickname? The idea of switching it around occasionally was amusing to him.
He was also tempted to ask her why she was so touchy about the nickname. But decided that it was probably too personal at the moment. If she wanted him to know, she would have told him. But he figured that perhaps in the future he might broach the topic again when they were closer friends. For now, this was a sleeping dog he intended to let rest. It was also possible he would simply forget the topic and never bring it up again though.
"Huh, skunks. That's kind of clever actually." He mused as he looked around at all the little beasts, lifting a hand to his chin as he observed them. "It's lucky for me then that I cultivate the wind then. Although, these little beasts don't seem terribly aggressive. I could probably use the wind to collect each one in a little bubble to transport them. But then where do we put them? I don't want to harm the little beasts. I think skunks are actually kind of cute, even if they can be foul-scented." He noted looking to Zam.
"What do you think? If I can collect them, what should we do with them?" He asked, not sure she would have any better idea's than he did. But they could not just let the creatures run around. Or at least, he didn't want them causing a stink.

W hen the new friend mentioned his ability, the little Majin gave him a puzzled stare. “You farm... wind...?” Her vivid imagination bubbled, painting a silly vision of the man watering a field of tiny tornadoes. In return for the love and care, the tornadoes carried the skunks for him. Silly or not, it made her eyes sparkle with wonder. “Oooh, that sounds amazing...” Maybe the reality would be even more amazing. Zam’s expression soured. She seemed like she had licked a lemon. “Bleh, I don’t like skunks... They are mean! And smelly...” She shuddered at the many, many memories of accidentally running into a skunk while playing in the forest near her home. Washing off the stink took forever! Still, the chaotic creature agreed on one thing at least. She didn’t want to hurt cute critters either. ...Even if they were super smelly. So, she rolled her shoulders in preparation for something. “We should throw them far, far away! So far that they won’t come back!” As she flailed excitedly, her arms seemed to wiggle more and more. “I catch! You throw! Okay?” Good plan, great plan~! Suddenly, the Majin flung her hand forward like a living whip. It snatched onto the skunk that had wandered closest to the tent’s entrance. Before the critter could even react, she yanked it back and chucked it haphazardly at her buddy. “Here, catch~!” Her other hand was already lashing for the next target. Yoink! With each pull, she picked up the pace. If the man of wind didn’t think fast, he would soon end up with a pile of dizzy and probably miffed skunks.

"It's not quite farming. It's better to say developing abilities in this case." However, it wasn't exactly wrong to say that farming could be part of cultivation. People whose element was of wood could probably gain a lot from farming. Meditating on the growth of wheat, vegetables, and other things. Seeing how different it was to grow and maintain each in nature. Some cultivators even used a hoe as their dao weapon.
He watched as Zam grabbed the first skunk, a little surprised when she tossed it his way, but he reacted quickly at least. Lifting his hands, an orb of wind formed, then a hole on the side of it opening to catch the skunk, keeping it surrounded in a contained barrier of wind. The skunk inside would not be harmed, it was just left to hover helplessly inside the orb while Fang waited for Zam to toss more his way. The other skunks inside the orb of formed wind would all be just as helpless, but all gently held within. The barrier of wind works to keep them safely and comfortably contained. And if they tried to spray, the barrier would contain it easily enough.
A water barrier or earth barrier might have been better in some ways, at least as far as making sure that no smelly spray was let loose, however as far as keeping the little animals safe, Fang felt his wind was the best. The most gentle element for this event was to make sure that everyone would be happy, the skunks and their stink would be contained, and there would be no risk of them suffocating or something by containing them in his orb of air, which he would expand as needed while Zam gathered the smelly little critters.

Z am kept snatching and Fang kept catching. One dizzy stinker at a time, the wedding venue was cleared of skunks. Teamwork made the task far easier. It also saved both of them from getting sprayed. That was probably the most important part. Stinking like a rotting sewer was a good way to get kicked out of, well, anything. As the last critter was trapped, the little Majin stopped to dust her hands. “Got ‘em, all of ‘em~!” She chimed gleefully. Her curiosity was drawn to the round skunk jail. “Oh, it’s not a tornado...” She mumbled with a distinct hint of disappointment, as if forming a barrier hadn’t been a far more demanding technique. Weeell, her interests were kind of weird anyway. The chaotic creature cocked her head. “Aren’t you gonna send them flying? You know, somewhere far, far away?” She kept her distance to the orb. Sure, it seemed secure, but she wasn’t taking any chances with the little stinkers. All her regeneration and magic wouldn’t be able to handle a skunk accident of this size. Back in the bush, the spying binoculars trembled with frustration. “Oh, you think breaking a little wind will cover my stink? You’ve smelled nothing yet...” The mutter came from between gritted teeth. Something clicked open. “Fly, my pretties... Rain on their parade...” Leaves rustled. Wings flapped. Numerous shadows ascended to the skies. Soon, one of the winged shadows landed on top of Zam’s head. She aimed a puzzled stare upwards. A seagull stared back with its beady, black eyes. “Oh, h-” Her greeting was cut short by a loud squawk. “Go aw-” Another ear-assaulting squawk interrupted her. She tried to shoo it away. ...Only for the bird to peck her in the eye. “OW! You stupid-” Squawk. More of the flying menaces descended upon the area like a swarm of locusts. They were strutting around, squawking loudly and worst of all... Eating the food!

He was glad when they managed to capture all the skunks after a bit of time. All held in a secure little cell of air.
When Zam asked him about tossing them away he shook his head. "Unless these are some kind of super skunks, I'm going to have to take them somewhere myself. I don't have the kind of power needed to control the wind from a limitless distance." He explained when the first seagulls struck.
"Oh what the heck... Is animal after animal going to show up? Are we at war with Dr. Dolittle?" And Seagulls were actually going to be harder to contain with air than these skunks too. How annoying.
"Well, this is the problem having wedding out doors I supposed." Looking to Zam. "You deal with these gulls for now, I am going to find a place to keep these skunks. I'll help deal with the birds after that, though I honestly don't have a clean solution for dealing with them." He noted before quickly flying off.
He just wanted to find an area some distance away where he could release the skunks. If he had to he would just fly a few miles out, and drop them on some other part of the beach. He didn't really care where the skunks went or what the did as long as they didn't ruin the wedding. Besides they were pretty harmless aside from their stinky nature.
Once he dropped the skunks off he would rush back to help Zam.

M uch to Zam’s growing panic, her friend had his hands full with the skunks. “But but-!” She tried to protest, only to be interrupted by another loud squawk. The gull pecked her again, right in the eye. Why was it always the eye?! “OW! Stupid bird!” She took a swing, only to miss spectacularly. Turns out trying to punch a bird was a lousy idea. In more ways than one... Suddenly, the whole flock descended upon the pink girl. “What the-? OwowOW!” They covered her entirely, pecking her furiously. “Stop it...” A pleading voice drowned beneath the squawking. Pink energy crackled. “Stop it!” The shout fared no better. A whistle of hot steam pierced the air. “Stopitstopit! STOP! IT!” A bright burst exploded from beneath the pile. As the chaotic creature broke free, the startled flock scattered, driven by animalistic panic. She was riddled with wounds, like her body was missing tiny pieces. Her eyes were burning with crimson fury. Gathering power, she curled her fingers. Raw energy crackled in her grasp, coalescing into a messy handful. Teeth gritted and visage twisted in fury, she took aim... Flailing wildly, the Majin unleashed a violent volley of Ki blasts. Many missed, careering off to the skies like out of control fireworks. She didn’t care though... If she threw enough of these, she would hit something eventually. Her wild approach worked too. One after another, the explosive barrage swallowed the flapping birds. Sparkling explosions lit up the sky. Charred feathers fluttered in the wind. The chaos was more than the mysterious bush stalker could handle. “My babies!” A loud, manly scream cut across the racket. From the bush burst a muscular man in what could only be described as a safari outfit. He even had a wide-brimmed hat. “Stop it, you monster!” He charged like a rhino, clearly aiming to tackle the girl. If he didn’t get stopped, someone was going to get hurt.

Ah well, it was a shame they could not spare the birds in the end. But frankly, Fang would have done the same in her place eventually. There was only so much anyone could tolerate when it came to such injuries, especially after getting her eyes pecked at. He was likely even less tolerant of having his eyes pecked than she was. His body wasn't some strange gummy existence after all. He was flesh and blood, he bled.
However, after delivering the skunks to a different area where they would not interfere with the wedding, he came back just in time to see that there was some sort of strangely dressed man charging Zam.
"Shadow Viper strikes." He said lightly to himself before his body became a blur of darkness on the wind. He was pushed along at superhuman speeds, interrupting the man's charge with one of his own.
Shadow Viper Strikes were an assassination technique generally. However, he didn't intend to kill the man so long as he didn't give them a reason to. So he did pull the blowback to a degree in that he didn't try to jam his arm into the man's chest and out his back. Instead settling for a solid palm strike that would send the man flying back likely with a cracked rib or two. But certainly, nothing vitally injured.
"You doing okay, Zee?" He asked glancing back at the pink creature. He could see she wasn't exactly in pristine condition. But he wasn't sure just how injured she actually was.

M ore than injured, the little Majin was miffed. Even as the sparkling barrage came to an end, the fury still burned hot in her eyes. In response to the question, she grumbled something barely intelligible about no and stupid birds ruining everything. Fluttering feathers got stuck in her hair. Bird droppings stained her clothing. Zam huffed with intense concentration. “Hnnnngh...” Suddenly, her malleable body bulged and the missing pieces grew back. All of the wounds vanished without a trace. Only the stray feathers and dropping stains remained. “Bleeeh... It's gonna take a bath to heal these... And Zam hates baths! This is totally the worst!”Well, at least she wasn’t the only one having a bad day... The mysterious meddler laid on the ground, wheezing weakly. Judging by how his eyes were spinning, a vivid imagination could practically picture the stars twirling around his head. Taken down in a single hit. That’s what happened when a regular... well... sort of regular human went against a trained warrior. And this was the better result too. If the Majin had handled him, well, there wouldn’t be much left of him anymore... Marching over to the wind warrior, the chaotic creature glared cautiously at the downed stranger. “Who’s this dummy?” Her fingers were still itching, twitching, with leftover Ki. Like static, it crackled. Her stare narrowed. “He was shouting something about babies and monsters... What do you think he meant...?” Nope, she still hadn’t put the two and two together. She wasn’t in a thinking mood, no. This was her blasting mood. And she had plenty more where that previous barrage came from...

It was a good thing that Fang had not intended to kill the man, and had even managed to pull his punch at the last moment before hitting them when he realized their level of power was basically insignificant. Even using the attack in a non-lethal manner, if he hadn't pulled his punch back he likely would have caved their chest in rather than just cracking a few ribs.
He looked to Zam seeing her repair part of her body, though the poor pink woman had been left quite the mess. Covered in feathers and bird excrement. He felt very sorry for her indeed.
"Well at this point you might as well take a quick dive into the ocean to wash off, and then take a proper bath later, right?" He suggested, although he wondered why she disliked baths. Did they do something to her? But now was not the time to ask.
"Considering what we heard I think this might be the ex in question. They came to ruin the wedding. Of course if I am wrong then perhaps the ex merely hired them to do their dirty work and this person is also just as crazy as they are." He mused rubbing his chin. "Anyway, I suppose we should bind them up till the wedding is over at least. I don't suppose you have a way to tie him up? Otherwise I'll go look for a rope or something to keep him down for the duration. This man is normal enough though that they can probably just call the police to come pick him up for causing a disturbance."

Z am folded her arms and cocked her head, squinting at Fangy. A deeply ponderous hum left her lips. She considered the suggestion of not one but two baths very carefully. Was it a bad joke? It totally sounded like a bad joke... Buuut... “Hmmm, I guess seawater doesn’t have soap...” A very important point indeed. She still wasn’t very fond of the idea, but being filthy was slightly worse. Slightly. The Majin lifted her hands idly behind her head. “Nope~ I don’t carry stuff like that. Like, I don’t even have pockets, you know.” She announced flippantly. True enough, her airy clothing had no room to carry anything extra. Maybe she should make some into her outfit... Would make carrying candy way easier... Still miffed at the safari meanie, the chaotic creature blew a raspberry at him before dashing off. If it were up to her, the troublemaker would be fireworks by now. Fortunately for everyone involved, she didn’t get a vote in that decision. So instead, she rushed to the shore and bounced into the salty water. Scrubbing furiously, she tried to get the muck off. It wasn’t so bad if she thought of it as swimming... After a quick dip, the soaking wet girl returned to the captured troublemaker. Judging by the cheers echoing from the tent, the lovers had just said ‘I do’. Aaand she had missed the whole thing because of this big, dumb lug... Bleh... Sucked. Absent-mindedly, the shameless Majin slipped her top off and started twisting the water out. “This is also why I hate baths... My clothes get all wet and icky...” She whined. One of the many reasons, really.
